Bear and Balloons Birthday Card

I was making a 4th birthday teddy bear themed card for a customer recently and loved this little teddy bear stamp so much, I thought I would team it up with some balloons to make a new baby card.

How I made it:

Firstly, I made a 14.8cm square card blank; but cutting a strip of the A4 card lengthwise at the 14.8cm mark and folding it in half.

I cut a 12cm square piece from the blue dotty patterned paper and stuck this, centrally, to the front of the card.

I cut a second panel, measuring 14.4cm square, to use as the insert.  To make this, I simply stamped the sentiment in Perfect Medium and heat embossed this with silver embossing powder.  Using the same silver powder and a Quickie glue pen, I drew a line around the edge of the paper and melted the powder before attaching to the inside of the card with double-sided adhesive.

I then cut a second piece of white card, measuring 12.5cm square and, using the largest circle die, I cut out a circular aperture (measuring just over 10cm).  Using the Silver glitter glue, I drew a thin line around the edge of the panel and also around the aperture and set this aside to dry.

Once the glitter glue had dried, I attached it with Shaker foam to the front of the card.

Next, I stamped out the teddy bear and coloured this using Zig Clean Colour Pens.  I stuck foam tape to his head and double-sided tape to the rest of his body and placed him on the card front.

I then die cut 4 balloons, from some of the scraps of white card left over and then coloured them using the Zig Clean Colour Pens.  Once this had dried, I then stamped the letters on them to spell out BABY, using Black Archival ink.  I stuck foam tape onto the backs of the balloon and attached them to the front of the card.  I used foam tape for these in order to create some dimension on the card.

I used the silver glitter glue to draw on the strings of the balloons; before adding a few pearl dots with the Nuvo Crystal Drops.  To finish the card, I covered the balloons and the nose of the teddy bear with Glossy Accents, giving them more of a 3D effect.
